MN74101 Road Race /Time Trial Custom. Circa 25”

Courtesy of Hilary Stone we have another good quality frame listed some time ago, from what appears from our records to be a series of closely related builds with drilled and refined Prugnat lugs which feature horns on the top headlug. We need a pattern number for this if anyone has an answer. This one was probably built for a good rider with a single machine as it has mudguard eyes.

The frame

Reynolds 531DB on Prugnat long point lugs drilled and refined of an as yet un-named pattern. Full wrapover seatstays with double fishtail topeye motif in white, curved reinforced seatstay bridge and curved chainstay bridge. Campagnolo Dropouts.

Sickle shaped fork blades in a filed and refined Vagner DP+Losenge Fraise’ fork crown.

Braze ons

A pair of Campagnolo shifter bosses, an interesting drilled custom front derailleur cable guide and a normal rear guide on the BB and the related cable stop on the O/S seat stay. Stops for rear brake cables at 4 o’clock under the off side of the TT. A pair of bottle bosses on the down tube.

The finish

A single colour pale blue flamboyant with red, white and gold lug lining. The down tube has white black edged gothic script and the head and seat tube have the Durban road shield and flags transfer and there is the seat tube gothic script to match the down tube.
