The Veteran-Cycle Club (V-CC) has organised and run annual MN rides for almost a decade thanks to Alvin and Major’s old friend Tim. Visitors are welcome on classic lightweights and you just might consider joining the V-CC as a result. These rides and their lunch stops have included owners of a significant proportion of the known bikes so by joining the ride you stand a good chance of meeting a like minded individual or two to make a good day even better. We will help to spread the word and encourage attendance.

I found this really interesting, I have owned two Major Nichols bikes, the first bought from his shop in Reform Street and the second from his shop in Smethwick. The first was stolen but the second, which I bought in 1980 as a frame is still in my possession, has been ridden infrequently and is absolutely mint and original. I recently rode it and it was still wonderful. The bike is green, short wheel base with butted tubes – I love it. Serial Number MN71109
